about

Joyously upbeat with a jangling rhythm and a sing-along chorus that isn’t so much about the joys of country life, but a tale of reckless youth, it's consequences, and the resilience inherently found in young adulthood. The line, “I’ve lost my license by I’ve got my pride” says it all. Probably the most requested song in the band's repertoire.

From the forthcoming album "Inappropriate Love Songs", set for release on March 5, 2021

lyrics

Will you shine my boots, so I can wear them to your funeral?
It’s time to snuff the life right out of you
We’ve been together for a month and a night,
but i just can’t continue

I’ve got got my dog, my shotgun ,and my pickup truck
Cigarettes, some whiskey and beginners luck
The clouds are looming, but I just got my check.
I’m going through with it just on a bet.

Sweet county life

Sometimes I think I could have held it all together
Have a couple more drinks, try to forget my name
If I’d been thinking, I could have been more tender
But it’s all gonna end up just the same

Now I’m drinking heavy, gonna remodel the trailer
And take that truck of mine out for a ride
Shitties on your lawn, and a dent in my front fender
I lost my license, but I’ve got my pride

Formed out of a mutual love of late 70’s and early 80’s post-punk, and 80’s alternative and jangle pop, the "O5" distill their influences into a sound that is reverent of the past, but uniquely their own.

Powered by music that alternately chimes, swirls, chugs, and soars, the lyrics eloquently capture the drama, hijinks, joys and frustrations of young adulthood,
