about

Alternate mix of single "Sick" with additional guitar track. Although it ultimately lost out to the more stripped down album version, this one has its own charms. As often is the case with guitarists, more guitar is better than more cowbell.

lyrics

Well I should have known it right from the start,
From the very first time that I met your mom

That nothing changes from generation
to generation right down to your pretty bob

Took something for nothing that was all that I could give you
All I had left to give
Already gave away

Well something you shoulda told me
When I took you to that cocktail party
With all of my friends

That you were not there to impress me
You were only decked out for them

But you looked so fine
You were dressed to the nines
You were all decked out
In your black silk party dress
Oh, black silk party dress

And I'm, sick, of working this hard
And I'm, tired, of playing all my cards, for you

Well that was so many years ago
Long before I had the courage to say

Well I gave all that I had to give
Threw it away

But I tried, I tried
That I've one thing left to say
Oh, I've one thing left to say

And I'm, sick, of working this hard
And I'm, tired, of playing all my cards, for you
Oh, sick of playing all my cards
Whoa, sick of working this hard for you
Oh, I'm sick of playing all my cards for you
Whoa

Ordinary 5 Minneapolis, Minnesota

Formed out of a mutual love of late 70’s and early 80’s post-punk, and 80’s alternative and jangle pop, the "O5" distill their influences into a sound that is reverent of the past, but uniquely their own.

Powered by music that alternately chimes, swirls, chugs, and soars, the lyrics eloquently capture the drama, hijinks, joys and frustrations of young adulthood,
